Here is the interview with Luka, my neighbour (Slovenia is East from Italy). He is quite young and he started to play quite recently, but he is already quite strong. He has a very strong sense of humour and it was nice for me to live with him in the same room for almost two months, we had nice talks at night and of course we lived great moment at the noraebang.

Leonardo: What about you and your life besides go?
Luka: I'm Luka Dobrota, 18 years old from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Currently I'm studying at school to become a printing machine operator. I like to play computer games and watching tv, especially commercials.

Leonardo: How did you start to play go and how is your go life?
Luka: I started to play go one and a half year ago. My father introduced me and he was my main teacher, he is 1k now. I played mostly in tournament around Europe and in KGS. I went to EGC in Leksand and I saw many pro and I thought I wanted to be as them. Before coming here my rank was 3k.

Leonardo: Tell me about your adventure at KBC and in South Korea
Luka: I found information about KBC during the EGC in Leksand and I thought it was a strange coincidence, and I decided immediately to come, and my father told me of course to go because these opportunities only happen once and should not be wasted. I like this school, the teachers are great, they always answer immediately about everything. The place is perfect to study because it's quite remote and there are not many distractions. Anyway we had a good time here with the other guys and I'll miss them because we had a lot of fun. The schedule is a little bit hard but you can get used to it. I think I'm improved, but anyway I'd like to have more lectures and group game review. I think I can recommend the school because you can improve a lot. Korea is nice, I like mountains and countryside. Seoul is a little bit too crowded and I'm not used. Korean are very nice and they try to help you with everything and have nice customs.

Leonardo: Plans for the future
Luka: After going back home, I'll try to finish the school but in September or in the next months I'd like to come back here and study longer. My goal is to become a professional. The main reason is to do a work that I enjoy, and then to teach others like my father did to me, and of course becoming stronger. Probably my weak point is emotional, sometimes I'm afraid to lose and I'm not feeling comfortable: so far my father helped me in this way, and his advices made me improve quite fast. My goal anyway is to become pro in 2-3 years. For now, I'd like to win the Slovenian Championship.
